FIFA 14 is a football simulation video game developed by EA Canada and published by Electronic Arts under the EA Sports label, released in September 2013. Powered by the EA Sports Ignite engine on next-generation consoles, the game brings players to life who think, move, and behave like world-class footballers, set against dynamic stadiums that react to the action on the pitch. The gameplay is built around building play through midfield and dictating the tempo of a match, creating a more strategic and realistic experience than previous entries in the series. Key innovations include Pure Shot, which transforms the way players strike the ball, and a brand-new ball physics system, alongside Precision Movement that delivers the authentic motion of real athletes. The game features 14 different online and offline modes, including the fan-favourite FIFA Ultimate Team and the new Co-op Seasons. Ultimate Team lets players build their own squad from real-world players and staff, competing in online and offline tournaments and divisions, earning coins with every match played. The game boasts 33 fully licensed leagues comprising over 600 clubs and more than 16,000 players, as well as 47 international teams, including three South American top flights making their FIFA debut: the Argentine Primera División, the Chilean Primera División, and the Colombian Categoría Primera A. Lionel Messi features as the global cover star, with Gareth Bale appearing on the UK and Irish edition.
