About the Game
America, 1899. The end of the Wild West era has begun. After a robbery goes badly wrong in the western town of Blackwater, Arthur Morgan, and the Van der Linde gang are forced to flee. With federal agents and the best bounty hunters in the nation massing on their heels, the gang must rob, steal and fight their way across the rugged heartland of America in order to survive. As deepening internal divisions threaten to tear the gang apart, Arthur must make a choice between his own ideals and loyalty to the gang that raised him.

The story absolutely destroyed me. By the end, it didn’t even feel like I was playing a game anymore, it felt like I’d gone through a journey with these characters. Rockstar set a ridiculous standard with this one.

Probably an unpopular opinion, but I found parts of it exhausting. The world is beautiful and technically impressive, but the controls felt clunky and some mechanics prioritized realism over fun. I can see why people love it, just wasn’t fully for me.

This game is slow in the best possible way. Riding through the wilderness, hearing random conversations in camp, watching storms roll in… it all feels immersive instead of empty. It’s less about rushing objectives and more about living in the world
